Uninstall Wireshark Antivirus

Published May 17th, 2012 by admin

Although its name alludes to a vicious animal Wireshark Antivirus is nothing more than a ruse.  This is a fake antivirus program that is designed to take over your computer and scare you into paying them money to restore full use of your system.  They do this by opening a pop up window that appears to be an active virus search that has found hundreds of potentially damaging viruses and malware.  The reality of it, though, is that none of the viruses that Wireshark Antivirus claims to discover actually exist.  Of course, from the looks of it, you might be inclined to believe it just because of how legitimate it appears (and the anxiety that arises from the thought of your computer being infected so horribly).

The worst part of the Wireshark Antivirus scam is that it will tell you that you need to pay them money in order to remove all of the dangerous programs from your system.  Of course, when you pay them the money you really don’t get any additional benefit (other than having control of your computer again).  This makes it a very poor expense and a complete waste as an investment in your web security.

Obviously, then, if you find your computer has somehow acquired the Wireshark Antivirus program you will want to remove it.  This, however, will not be easy because, first of all, you will not be able to utilize the Windows Removal Tool, thanks to the cleverly programmed malware that remains hidden from it or disables it altogether.  Do not let this get you down, though, because there are other ways to remove it.

First of all, you can remove Wireshark Antivirus manually by going into the Windows operating system and deleting the Program and System Files one by one.  This is usually a somewhat difficult task and it is definitely quite tedious, but it’s better than nothing.  Of course, you will need to understand the process for doing this and you will need to know how to edit your registry key to make sure that the pesky program does not return in the future.  If you are not comfortable performing these tasks or you cannot find the information you need to do it properly, then you should avoid the manual removal option because it could further damage your system.

Secondly, though, you can remove Wireshark Antivirus (and potentially all other programs like it) by installing third party removal software like Perfect Uninstaller.  Perfect Uninstaller has been designed to go into your system and help you remove all of the programs that are taking up space on your hard drive but you have no use for.  It can locate hidden files and remove difficult programs.  It can also edit your registry automatically.  In addition to all of this it will also back up your files and automatically set restore points every time you restart your program (because that is the only way that malicious programs can effectively open in windows:  after you restart).

Uninstall Security Suite

Published May 14th, 2012 by admin

Security Suite might sound like a quality program that helps protect your computer from various online threats but its generic title is a misnomer as it actually does quite the opposite from what you might expect.  Indeed, this program is a fake anti-spyware program that notifies you of exaggerated, fake, or non-existent security threats on your computer.  As a matter of fact, most of these threats are completely fictional and are only listed to beef up the credibility of Security Suite so that you will be more apt to believe the claims that it makes regarding the safety of your system.

Security Suite is, actually, a malware program that is manually installed on your computer.  This means that you have to choose to install it, although you probably got it by choosing to install something that it came packaged with.  It is common, actually, to acquire this kind of malware by trying to install streaming online video codecs, as an example.  Because of this, and because of the way it behaves, Security Suite is pretty much the same as just about every other rogue anti-spyware program out there.  To summarize its goal, Security Suite will install itself, pretend to scan your computer, and then take over your home screen or your internet window to inform you of the massive number of threats that you supposedly have.  While this might not sound so bad the true deception is in the way it suggests you pay for their full security program in order to remove all of the threats listed.

Of course, paying for their program really amounts to the same thing as paying a ransom to get your computer back.  It’s not like “unlocking” the software is going to make your computer any safer.  Learning this is probably very frustrating and annoying, but you can avoid this headache by learning how to manually remove the program or by being proactive and installing quality removal software.

First of all, you will have to consider manual removal.  Manual removal can be helpful because the automatic Windows Removal Tool feature probably will not work.  There are several reasons why this might be so but all you need to concern yourself with is the fact that it will not work.  Manual removal, though, while effective, can also be difficult because you need to know how to identify hidden files. These files are often disguised with obscure letter-number combinations so that you won’t know for sure what you are looking at.  This process is also difficult because you will need to edit the registry key (which can be complicated if you don’t have experience).

Secondly, third party removal software is a much better option.  Perfect Uninstaller, for example, can perform all of the tasks listed in the manual removal process, including editing the registry key.  That’s a load off your mind.  In addition to this, though, Perfect Uninstaller can expose all hidden files or folders as well as set automatic restore points so that you can reset your system should you encounter a new threat.

Uninstall Green Shield Antivirus

Published May 11th, 2012 by admin

Green Shield Antivirus is another of the many rogue security programs that are widely circulating the internet these days.  It is quite typical of those rogue programs to resemble legitimate security software but in reality just cause you trouble and give you a headache.  Whatever the case, it will act like an authentic security program and try to scare you into believing that your computer is infected with upwards of 300 virus and malware programs.  Of course, this is just an empty threat, as your computer is likely very much healthy and these threats are nothing more than a sinister strategy to get you to fork over some cash to pay for a “full service security suite” that removes these potentially dangerous programs that are supposedly on your computer.

When you find that Green Shield Antivirus has notified you of all the threats on your system, you should not concern yourself with the fact that it has hijacked your screen and will not return functionality to you until you pay the “ransom.”  You can actually remove the program without much trouble if you know how to manually remove software.  This is probably the strategy you will need to employ because malicious programs usually disable or remain hidden from the Windows Removal Tool.

Manually removing malicious programs like Green Shield Antivirus can be difficult because it requires that you manually stop all processes and then delete and block all associated files and folders as well as edit the registry key to make sure none of its remnants remain.  If this sounds confusing or complicated that means you are probably not technically proficient.  That’s ok because most Windows users only have a basic understanding of the operational aspect of the platform.  You can research information on this process if you want to attempt the manual removal yourself, but remember that this is an intricate thing and if you make a mistake it good do more harm than good.

In addition to manual removal, if you want to get rid of Green Shield Antivirus you can also try to use third party removal software like Perfect Uninstaller, among others.  Programs like this can be installed on your computer while it is in Safe Mode (which you will have to use after you discover a potential threat) and they will make it much easier for you to get rid of all the things on your computer that you do need or want.  Perfect Uninstaller will track down hidden files both good and bad and it will remove them without prejudice, all the while editing the registry key for you.  Perfect Uninstaller can also help you by making all hidden files visible so that you can better understand what might be interfering with other programs or what could be slowing your computer down.  Finally, Perfect Uninstaller can also back up your files and set up restore points so that when you restart your computer you have a recent back up just in case you find something problematic on your computer.

Uninstall Advanced Security Tool

Published May 8th, 2012 by admin

The internet is home to all kinds of quality information, which makes it very easy to find nearly anything you want or need to learn.  Unfortunately the abundance of information and the ease by which you can acquire it also makes you more susceptible to all kinds of online threats like viruses and malware.  Because of this, the need for internet security is very important; at the same time, virus and malware programmers know how important that it is and that uneducated and inexperienced computer users will always be looking for better protection.

The irony, then, is that there are many programs that appear to offer legitimate protection services but are really rogue anti-spyware programs that will make all kinds of false claims regarding the state of protection on your system.  Usually, what happens is that you unknowingly download these programs, which then open a huge window on your home screen and inform you that your computer has been infected with several hundred (or more) potential virus or malware threats and that you need to act quickly to install the full Advanced Security Tool in order to effectively remove them.

If you have ever heard of the Security Central family of rogue programs, however, then you know exactly where this will go.  Paying for the full Advanced Security Tool version does nothing more for you than stop sending you notifications about potential threats that never existed in the first place.  Knowing this, you probably want to try to remove the program before it can do anymore damage, but this is something that could prove to be quite difficult because these kinds of programs often disable or hide from the Windows Removal Tool (for the precise reason of avoiding removal).

When this happens your next instinct should be to try to remove it manually; unless, of course, you have no experience in this area.  It is important that, if you try to do it this way, you follow the directions precisely because you are dealing with the deletion of Program and System Files—one wrong move and you could have to restore your entire operating system.  Similarly, you will also have to edit the registry key (which is also a very precise process).

If you are not tech savvy with Windows OS programming (and most people aren’t) then manual removal is probably quite out of the question.  Do not fret, though, as there is at least one other option for you and that is to restart your computer in Safe Mode with Networking and download and install third party removal software like Perfect Uninstaller.  Programs like this can perform all of the tasks listed above with ease, guaranteeing precision so you do not have to worry about the potential for completely disabling your system.  Perfect Uninstaller, and programs like it, also offers other auxiliary benefits that make them a very good investment.  For example, they allow you to set automatic restore points that back up your data just in case you do have a security threat incident.

Uninstall Red Cross Antivirus

Published May 5th, 2012 by admin

Spyware and malware are among the most common kinds of threats on the internet today.  While these programs may not seem as malicious and damaging as viruses of the previous generation—because those programs could have shut down your system—they are still just as frustrating because of the way they interfere with your life.  Spyware, for example, monitors your web activity and tries to target you with very specific advertisements through pop ups and e-mail correspondence.  Indeed, programs like this can make your online experience very frustrating.

Red Cross Antivirus, in contrast, is a rogue anti-spyware program that is part of the new generation of malicious software that is more profitable than viruses that shut down your system.  Programs like Red Cross Antivirus are characterized by the way they display fake security messages and by the sheer amount of security messages they display.  These messages will tell you that your computer is infected with several spyware programs (as many as three hundred, perhaps) and that you will need to purchase their security program in order to remove these nasty programs from your computer.

While this might not seem like a big deal at first glance, this notification window will occupy your entire computer screen and will continue to persist until you do what they tell you to do.  If you think this sounds a bit like terrorism you are correct.  The terminology used to describe this kind of online threat is “hijacking,” which can apply to both your home screen and your internet browser (sometimes the threat will only occur when you try to open the internet).  However this program operates on your computer and when you find it you will quickly realize that you do not have much choice but to pay the ransom demand if you want to get control of your computer again.

Fortunately for you there are other ways of removing malicious programs like Red Cross Antivirus.  First of all, you can attempt to use the Windows Removal Tool, which is built into the Windows operating system.  This is usually effective for removing after-market programs, which includes security suites.  Unfortunately, rogue anti-spyware programs like Red Cross Antivirus are often designed to stay hidden from the Windows Removal Tool or disable it completely in order to prevent you from doing the very thing you are learning about right now.

If you find that the Windows Removal Tool is ineffective, you could also try to remove the program manually.  This could also prove to be quite difficult as it requires very specialized and specific knowledge and expertise.  You need to know how to find hidden folders and files and you will also need to know how to edit the registry key.

Finally, you could also install a third party removal program like Perfect Uninstaller.  This kind of program does all of the leg work for you which means you will not need learn the complicated process of manual removal.  Perfect Uninstaller also has several other benefits that can prove helpful in many other situations.

Uninstall Peak Protection

Published May 2nd, 2012 by admin

Peak Protection is yet another of those fraudulent applications that is pushed through the internet to computers all over the world by the fake Microsoft Security Essentials Alert Trojan, which is causing a lot of problems for a lot of people.  Microsoft Security Essential Alert Trojan is one of the most dangerous viral computer infections of this moment in time not because of what it does or how it works (because it is actually very similar to most other programs in circulation) but because it has been found spreading through reputable websites (whereas most other programs like it only using websites of ill- or questionable repute).

Regardless of where Peak Protection comes from it will end up damaging your system in the same way as all other rogue security programs.  Actually, it won’t damage your system; rather it will claim that your system is infected with hundreds of viruses and malware programs.  This, of course, is not true, but by the time you witness the warning window that takes up your whole monitor screen you might be convinced that it is.  This is the primary function of rogue security programs, as the point is to frighten you into thinking that your computer is drastically infected so that you will buy their full-service security suite.

Unfortunately, this security product doesn’t actually exist and neither do any of the threats that it claims to find on your computer.  Rogue security programs just make these false claims so that you will pay them to restore function to your computer.  This equates, basically, to holding your computer ransom.

You will find that trying to remove Peak Protection is kind of a big pain.  This is because these programs are designed to be difficult to remove; some might even claim they are impossible.  This impossibility comes from the understanding that Windows Removal Tool is often vastly ineffective.  The reason for this is that malicious software programmers understand how Windows works and they design these programs to hide from the Removal Tool or to disable it completely.

If you find that this is true, you could also consider trying to remove Peak Protection manually.  This might also prove to be difficult though because you need to have a specific, technical kind of knowledge to perform this properly.  If you do not do this the right way you can actually end up causing more problems than you started with!  Furthermore, you will also need to know how to edit your registry key which, again, can prove to be more damaging in the long run if you do not know how to do it properly.

Finally, you can also use third party programs like Perfect Uninstaller to help you remove some persistent or malicious programs.  Perfect Uninstaller will perform everything mentioned above with ease as well as offer other convenient benefits that might improve your computer’s performance.  This includes not only exposing hidden files and folders as well as set automatic restore points to ensure no future threats.

Uninstall Systran

Published April 30th, 2012 by admin

The Microsoft Windows operating system platform makes all kinds of programming available to people with various needs.  This is what makes Windows such a desirable platform:  if you are running it on your PC you will be able to download and install all kinds of programs to address whatever your particular needs are.  Eventually, you may have to remove these programs, either because you have run out of space on your hard drive or you simply do not need them anymore.  No matter what the reason may be, removing programs from your computer can sometimes be more difficult than you think.  This can be for various reasons; sometimes these programs are malicious and sometimes they are simply just programmed to be persistent.

Systran, for example, is not one of those malicious programs that can install itself without your knowledge.  It is basically a dictionary and translator application that you might choose to install for reasons that only need be known to you.  When it comes time to remove the program you will be faced with three options:  Windows Removal Tool, Manual Removal, and Third-Party removal software.

WINDOWS REMOVAL TOOL

The Windows Removal Tool is always the preferable method for deleting programs from your computer.  It is automatically available with Windows and usually works just fine:  simply open the program and it will list all of the programs that are available for removal.  If you see it on the list this application will remove it for you and all will be well in no time at all.  The Windows Removal Tool will also take care of removing all the remnants of each program you try to delete so that you won’t have any trouble with it in the future.

MANUAL REMOVAL

Sometimes a program is hard to find and Windows Removal Tool doesn’t list it.  This could be due to the fact that it is malicious (so it is trying to hide) or that it is recognized as important to the operating system.  You can still remove these programs even if Windows Removal Tool won’t find them for you, but you’ll have to do it manually.  This requires an understanding of the Program Files as you will have to know how to identify files that you do not need (because some might be phrased in a way that is different from what you would expect).  You will also have to know how to edit the registry manually, which is another thing that is not easy to do.

THIRD PARTY REMOVAL SOFTWARE

Third party removal software, like Perfect Uninstaller, is an ideal alternative to either of these methods, when trying to remove something like Systran.  Basically, Perfect Uninstaller does everything that the Windows Removal Tool does, but it can find those hidden files or difficult programs that the Windows Removal Tool won’t find.  Additionally it is much easier than a manual removal, as it will also edit the registry for you.  If that weren’t enough it will also provide you with several other security and convenience options.

Uninstall Soft Safeness

Published April 29th, 2012 by admin

There are a lot of scams on the internet.  They might come in the form of money-making/get rich quick schemes or pyramids that never amount to what you think they will.  They might come in the form of leadership or personal development or business training that turns out to be membership to a much less appealing book club.  They might come in the form of a spam e-mail that asks you to invest in an overseas company.  While some of these are slight exaggerations, many of the scams you find online will be easy to spot.  Unfortunately, though, one of the most common scams these days comes in the form of rogue security programs that pretend to offer legitimate protection but are really nothing more than computer hijackers.

Hijacking is definitely the best way to describe how rogue security programs, like Soft Safeness, work.  They burrow into your hard drive, usually by means of a Trojan, and wait until you restart your computer.  When you do this Soft Safeness will install itself and then open a window that tells you your computer is infected will all kinds of viruses and malware and that you should buy their full service security program in order to remove them.  This window will occupy your entire screen and will refuse to go away.  This could cause you to pull your hair out because, obviously, it means that you can’t use your computer until you actually give them money to buy the program they promote.

Unfortunately for you, though, the program they are promoting does not actually exist.  If you pay them the money you will simply have your computer returned to you and that is all.  While that is not necessarily the worst possible outcome it is definitely a waste of money and many people would probably prefer to hold onto their cash.  If this is you (and it probably is) then you might want to consider one of the following additional options:

First of all you can try to remove Soft Safeness using the Windows Removal Tool.  This probably won’t work, though, because these applications are designed by very smart programmers who know better.  This means they will have designed the program to either remain hidden from the Windows Removal Tool or to disable it altogether.

In addition to this, you could try to remove Soft Safeness manually.  This involves deleting the associated files and folders one at a time.  Unfortunately, this can also prove to be more challenging than you might have originally thought because these files often have very cryptic names so you can’t just pick them out of the Program Files, etc.  Even if you could find them, though, you would also have to know how to edit the registry key.

Instead of wasting your time and energy with all of that, you could also try to use something like Perfect Uninstaller.  This program does all of the dirty work listed above as well as a few additional features that ensure you get the most out of your PC.

Uninstall Antivirus

Published April 27th, 2012 by admin

This is a highly technical age: everyone has easy access to a computer.  This is also a highly integrated age:  everyone has easy access to an internet.  While this can be of great benefit to anyone who wants to take advantage of it, it also allows for people with less than favorable intentions to distribute their mayhem in an efficient manner.  For example, you may have noticed that there seems to be a great deal of malicious programs out there, often in the form of not only viruses and malware, but in fake antivirus programs that do not help you (but, in fact, can cause you some major issues).

Indeed, there are many kinds of rogue programs out there and they are not just the kind of programs that get into your computer to shut it down or steal information, although those still do exist.  Rogue antivirus programs are fake security applications that get into your system through a Trojan virus, which is often something that you can easily download by trying to install a video codec for streaming video.  These rogue security programs will open a window on your home screen and make it seem like your computer is infected with dozens, or even hundreds, of viruses that you are going to want to remove before the situation gets worse.  Rogue antivirus programs will warn you that you need to purchase and install a better security program in order to do this.

The biggest issue with this is that if you do pay the ransom it doesn’t actually get rid of anything; or rather, you never actually install any improved software.  All you do is pay the company to remove the window that is blocking the rest of your home screen.  Basically, you pay this salesman to stop bothering you.  This might be worth it to some people, but for those who would prefer to keep their money, there are a couple of other ways you can go about removing these fake warnings.

The first way is usually to try and utilize the Windows Removal Tool.  This application is the easiest way to remove unwanted program, but because it is so accessible, it is also often disabled from the programming in the virus.  This will usually lead you to frustration and perhaps even anxiety.  When you calm down, though, you will realize that you can also try to remove the program manually, which basically just requires that you go into the Program Files and System Files in your operating system and finding and removing each of the malicious files one at a time.  This could prove to be tedious but it is worth it.

Sometimes, though, you don’t have the time or specialized knowledge to remove a program manually.  In this case, you might also want to consider installing third party removal software like Perfect Uninstaller.  This program will expose hidden files, remove unwanted programs, edit your registry key, back up your files, and set automatic restore points that could come in very handy in the futre.

Uninstall System Veteran

Published April 25th, 2012 by admin

Malicious software is very common these days.  As a matter of fact, it could very well be that these programs are among the easiest to find online.  The funny thing is that you will often find them without even looking.  The unfortunate thing is that this is exactly what they are designed to do.  Malicious software, which can go by very generic names such as System Veteran, among others, usually nestles its way onto your hard drive and hides there until you restart your computer.  That is when it starts wreaking havoc in your life.

The way these programs typically work is to open a window on your home screen, a window which will not go away until you follow the instructions given in the window.  These instructions are more like ransom demands because what these applications are actually designed to do is to appear like a legitimate security program.  When they open a window on your home screen it will seem like your computer has been suddenly infected with several hundred viruses and malware programs.  Even though this is not true, and despite the fact that you are probably quite positive that your hard drive is clean it is still unnerving to see; which is the first operation of System Veteran (and other programs like it).

System Veteran is also designed to capitalize on this anxiety that it causes you by displaying that they only way you will be able to remove all of the several hundred viruses is to purchase the full version of its software suite.  Alas, when you do this it will not install an upgraded virus protection program; all it will do is remove the notification of the fake threats and tear down that window that had taken over your screen (which is actually called “hijacking”).

There are basically two other ways that you can attempt to remove this program if you do not want to pay the “ransom” that they demand.  These options do not include the use of the Windows Removal Tool because programs like System Veteran usually either disable it or hide from it, which makes it nearly impossible to remove it in the simplest possible way.  Thus, the first method for removal of System Veteran is to manually delete the appropriated files by going into the Program and System Files and locating them one by one.  This is usually extremely difficult because the file names are often random numbers and letters so you can’t tell the difference.  In addition to this you will have to edit the registry manually, which can also prove to be difficult if you do not know how to do this.

You can also delete programs like System Veteran by installing third party removal software like Perfect Uninstaller.  You can download this program using Safe Mode with Networking and it will help you by locating hidden files for you and removing them as well as editing the registry.  It will also help you to schedule automatic system restore points and data backup.
